Tai Tokerau Climate Change Action Week and Conference

Kaupapa
- Raise awareness of ecological regeneration, biodiversity and the water cycle for mitigating and adapting to climate change.
- Raise the mana of mātauranga Māori as a vital foundation for climate mitigation and adaptation.
- Celebrate the diverse action already happening here and link these efforts to climate mitigation and adaptation.
- Expand the canvas for action through enhancing networks, supporting current initiatives and further planning.

Conference programme
Conference themes are:
- Ngahere (forests and trees)
- Moana me te wai ara, (the ocean and waterways)
- Kainga me taone (the places where we live)
- Kai me te oranga (food and wellbeing)
- Change (manaaki me oranga)
- Kai whenua (regenerative agriculture).
Day one: Powhiri, conference opening and presentations and the Ngahere and Moana me te wai ara more>
Day two: Kainga me taone, Kai me te oranga, Change and Kai whenua themes more>
Conference fee options
- $60 (contributes to kai and other conference costs)
- Koha (for non-waged)
- Pay it forward: $120, paying for non-waged including students. (20 conference spaces will be reserved for under 20s).

Climate action week events
2021 is the inaugural Climate Action Week. Planning is underway to create some events to establish a pattern for every year until the job is done! The Climate Action Week is still under construction. more>
