Climate Action Tai Tokerau has established a Whangārei Hub for the Inner Development Goals. These are a citizen-led initiative with over 600 hubs to foster the inner work required for us to have any hope of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

I used to think that the top environmental problems were biodiversity loss, ecosystem collapse and climate change. I thought with 30 years of good science we could address those problems. But I was wrong. The top environmental problems are selfishness, greed and apathy… And to deal with these we need a spiritual and cultural transformation.

The hui will be largely interactive. Here are some of the questions we for kōrero.
- The meta-crisis is gathering momentum through our separation from nature, each other and our selves. If connection is the remedy, how do you connect with nature, with others, and with your true self? How does it make a difference?
- Where are the opportunities and spaces for us to play/experiment with the IDGs in Whangārei?
- Who else might be interested in establishing hubs in other areas of the north?
