Submissions to the 2024 Review of Aotearoa New Zealand’s 2050 emissions reduction target

The Climate Commission is seeking feedback on three topics relating to emissions reductions. You can access them here.

I requested a list of the questions as typically, when entered into an online feedback form it is difficult to save a draft or share your thinking with others. The questions for the three consultations are here.

There is also a 2022 open letter to Dr Rod Carr, Chair of the Climate Commission stating that Aotearoa New Zealand needs climate policy that addresses our unique challenges. This letter is signed by some prominent academics, farmers, and international experts, and focuses on methane. Here is one of the signatories, Walter Jehne speaking about methane at NorthTec.

Please leave a comment if you would like a copy of our draft submission. It is still being developed.
