u.Lab: Leading from the Emerging Future
U.Lab is a free MOOC (massive online open course)from MIT, led by Otto Scharmer. The course starts 13 September 2019 and runs for 14 weeks. I enjoyed this course so much I’ve done it 3 times.
We can make a cohort here in Whangarei and other parts of Northland. The course includes six coaching clinics where teams meet up for peer coaching using the concepts and models from the course. We will learn:
- the leadership knowledge that matters most: self-knowledge
- capacities of deep listening, precise observation, and dialogue
- practices for creating institutional innovations that generate well-being in society.
If you want to try it out first, here is a 90 minute introductory course. https://www.edx.org/course/ulab-leading-change-in-times-of-disruption

Note that the course runs live in the early morning, but the course material is available online.
A new addition to this course is monthly virtual communities of practice around four themes including climate action.
